Goodbye Archerfield Speedway
All Fired Up Fireworks & Stage FX had an excellent relationship with the Archerfield Speedway team to provide Fireworks throughout many seasons.
After 44 years at Archerfield Speedway, the final race occurred on June 3rd, 2023. The facility will be permanently closed, and the property redeveloped by new landowners. It was the only Speedway in South-East Queensland.
All Fired Up Fireworks & Stage FX provided AFU flames, Close Proximity Fireworks and a huge farewell Fireworks Display to celebrate a wonderful 44 years of racing at Archerfield Speedway. We have enjoyed providing the extra entertainment for the last 6 years. We wish John & Kathy Kelly all the best and hope to see another Speedway venue soon.
About Archerfield Speedway
Archerfield Speedway, also known as Brisbane International Speedway, was Queensland’s premier dirt track venue. Its gates opened on 1 July 1979 and were well-patronized thereafter.
The annual calendar usually included World Series Sprintcar events as well as the Australian Sprintcar Opening, paying $20,000 to win, attracting the best international and interstate drivers.
Each race event was unique. Monster Trucks, stunts, and fireworks were all part of the entertainment, adding to the speedway affair. Whether it was Sprintcars, Super Sedans, a club event, or an international meeting, the attraction remained.
The floodlit track set the scene for action and plenty of it. Fans scrambled to stake claim on their usual vantage points. Fine-tuned machines spilled out onto the track for the warm-up laps. The crowd and drivers alike were prepared for the battle. The atmosphere was heavy with anticipation. The roar of 850hp V8s let loose…
A special bond existed among speedway fans. They knew the thrill of a hard-fought battle, to close their eyes and feel the earth shake, to hear the engines groan, and to smell the methanol. To wait, and watch, to savor the unpredictability of each moment. This was the addiction. Speedway! The ultimate spectacle, it was about excitement and high-speed action.
